Within the Soft Skills Project to improve employability in VR, we are developing for the Castellar del Vallès City Council different immersive experiences to enhance Soft Skills such as communication, teamwork, planning and organization, conflict resolution and adaptability, in the job search.
The third and fourth soft skills we’ve worked on are communication and planning/organization. We’ve developed two scripts where the user will be placed in the middle of scenes and will have to decide how to act. Depending on their decisions, the experience will unfold in one way or another, and it’s at these moments that they will have to become aware of the consequences of their actions.
Communication
This experiment takes place in an office where a cleaning company is experiencing a conflict among its employees due to a malfunctioning vacuum cleaner. The way they communicate will greatly influence how the employees react to each situation.

Communication is the process by which people exchange information, ideas, emotions, or knowledge through various channels, whether verbal, nonverbal, or written. Good communication not only conveys messages clearly but also ensures they are understood and interpreted correctly by the recipient. It is a key skill both personally and professionally, as it allows for building trust, resolving conflicts, working as a team, and transmitting messages effectively. Developing communication skills helps improve interpersonal relationships, avoid misunderstandings, and achieve common goals more effectively.
Planning/Organization
This experience takes place in an office where organization and planning of tasks are essential for efficient work. The user will experience the difference between organizing tasks correctly according to their superiors’ instructions and the setbacks that can occur when they don’t.

Planning and organization are transversal skills that allow you to set clear goals, define the necessary actions to achieve them, and structure time and resources efficiently. Planning involves anticipating needs, prioritizing tasks, and foreseeing potential obstacles. Organization, on the other hand, refers to properly ordering and managing resources, tasks, and information to ensure the plan is successfully implemented. These skills are essential both personally and professionally, as they facilitate productivity, reduce stress, and ensure better decision-making. Developing planning and organizational skills improves efficiency, minimizes unforeseen events, and leads to a more balanced management of time and responsibilities.
